Squash at Wycombe Squash and Racketball Club

We have a comprehensive squash programme which is well supported by members.  We encourage friendly competition with a variety of events throughout the year, including an informal and inclusive summer teams tournament from May to July.  Finals nights are always a great opportunity to see some very competitive matches contested by the top players in the club.

See below our range of events to get involved during the year.  Not a member yet? Join the club.

Club night is the best way to meet other members and to play against them.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to play short friendly games – a great way to play people of different abilities.  For more information please read the Squash Club Night Rules.

Our own leagues run monthly and provide friendly but competitive games for members of all playing standards. To enter the leagues, simply contact the Club Manager, who will add you to a division at a suitable level. New members will be offered one or two introductory games to gauge your standard and where in the leagues to play. For more information, go to our Leagues page.

The club fields three senior teams in the Bucks Squash League, which runs from September to April. As at 2014, we have two teams in Division 2, and one in Division 3. Team places are open to all, and we have fielded several mixed teams this season. However, please note that squad players must be pre-registered with the county. See the Teams page.

Our Ladies’ team plays in the Bucks Squash League Division 2; and we also field teams in the Senior and Veterans Berkshire Squash Leagues, and the Berkshire Summer Squash League, as “Temple Wycombe”.

We have a large and thriving Juniors section, and three Junior teams represent the club in the Bucks Junior Squash League.

For more information go to our Teams page.

The Veterans (over 45 years), Vintage (over 55s) and Club Handicap championships all take place in October and November.  The Handicap Competition is based on a combination of club rankings and a tried-and-tested handicapping algorithm, so that everyone in the club has a chance of winning. Indeed, lower rank players have won the tournament in recent years.

Junior Club Championship rounds are held in January each year. Senior Club Championships (including a separate ladies Championship) take place in March and April. All culminate in a Finals Night. Watch out for emails and fliers inviting entries for these.

Want to improve your game? Squash coaching is available on an individual or joint basis from our club coaches. For more information go to our Coaching page.

MAY to JULY – Summer Teams Tournament

Join our tournament where players of all abilities (graded from levels 1 to 5) play in teams against opponents at the same level, culminating in a busy finals night (with barbecue) in mid July. For more information see the Summer Teams photos, fixtures, team lists and league standings pages.

The County Closed Championships are normally held over a weekend in January each year, and players compete in the various categories, similar to the above. We hosted the championships in 2014. For details of the various tournaments, please see the County website.
